The Administration-General Zakat (AGZ) has notified ''Nisab'' for the Zakat Year 1428-29 Hijrah (AH) on the ending last day of Sha''bban-ul-Muazam, 1429 as Rs 19,625 (Rupees nineteen thousand, six hundred and twenty-five only). This ''Nisab'' will be applicable for FATA also.
The AGZ has also notified the First of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak 1429 AH as ''Deduction Date'' falling on September 2 or 3, 2008 (subject to appearance of the moon) for deduction of Zakat in respect of Saving Bank Accounts and similar Accounts having credit balance of Rs 19,625 (Rupees nineteen thousand, six hundred and twenty-five only) and above, said a press release here on Saturday.
The AGZ has also notified that no deduction of Zakat at source shall be make in case the amount standing to the credit of an account is less than Rs 19,625 on the first day of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak 1449 AH.
