The contribution of Pakistan in the war on terror was praised by the defence officials of various countries who attended the Defence Day of Pakistan reception hosted at Pakistan High Commission here last night. The event was organised a week ahead of the actual date of September 6 due to the holy month of Ramazan which is expected to commence in UK from September 1.
The guests on their arrival at the High Commission were received by the High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hasan, Defence Attache Commodore Asif Saleem and other senior defence officials. In their talk with APP, the officials noted the importance of Pakistan as a crucial partner in the global war on terror and the sacrifices it had rendered in meeting the challenges posed by this scourge.
The Defence officials of USA, UK, France, China, Egypt, Australia, Thailand, Italy, Germany, Canada, Jordan, the Netherlands, Ghana, Japan, Slovak Republic, Brunei Darussalam, Cameroon, Greece, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Nepal, Malaysia, Romania, Norway besides members of the business community and media persons attended the reception. The officials appreciated Pakistan's efforts in meeting the challenges posed on its western borders and said the country has the complete support and backing of the international community in rolling back the threat of Talibanisation.
