A delegation of newly elected body of Pakistan Crop Protection Association (PCPA) have met with the agriculture secretary, Malik Javed Awan here on Friday. Chairman PCPA Engr. Javes Salim Qureshi told Business Recorder that the body has discussed agriculture and pesticides-related problems being faced by farmers with the secretary and presented some proposals for their solution to him.
He said it was suggested that government should monitor the performance of the pesticides' companies and stern action be taken against the companies involved in selling counterfeited pesticides. He maintained that during the meeting it was underscored the pesticides companies should work at district, divisional and provincial level with direct intercalation with the farmers. He said that our agriculture sector can progress only when the private sector positively play its role instead of minting money.
