Punjab Population Welfare Minister Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry has said that after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari saved the country from crisis and it was due to his wisdom that the country was put on the road to democracy.
She said that Asif Zardari has become "symbol of federation" and after becoming President, he would put the country on road to progress and prosperity. Neelam said that the Social Welfare Department would give sewing machines to the deserving women.
She said that new family welfare centres would be established in the province for the provision of basic maternal and child healthcare facilities to the majority of the masses at their doorsteps.
The Minister said family welfare centres, LHWs and LHVs have to play their vital role in health education of the rural folk and they are the backbone of our healthcare system, therefore, the government would provide them all opportunities to continue further medical education and training.
