Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Haji Mohammad Asaf has congratulated Asif Ali Zardari for his election as President of Pakistan with overwhelming majority. In a press statement issued here on Monday, the Sarhad Chamber chief hoped that after the completion of the presidential poll, the present financial and economic crises in the country would be resolved.
He said that Asif Ali Zardari since the beginning has shown his political acumen of making strong particular on economic front, adding that after his election the pledge would be fulfilled and Pakistan would be emerged as stable country. Haji Mohammad Asaf urged the President-elect Asif Ali Zardari for reviewing the decision of 31 percent increase in power tariff for the sake of industrial development and promotion of economic activities in the country.
He said the review of the decision would help enable crises-gripped industrial and trading communities of the country. He called for immediate reversal of the decision regarding increase in the power tariff for running the wheel of the industrial units.
He said that business community of the country was of the view that with the election of Asif Ali Zardari with absolute majority should help the country out of all kinds of crises, and urged the president-elect to fully concentrate on giving relief to the people in general and business community in particular.
The Sarhad Chamber chief said that the revival of the economic and financial situation would help encourage both domestic and foreign investors for making investment in Pakistan. He urged him for framing stable policy aimed at strengthening the national economy. He called for taking all chambers and business community into confidence in this regard and assuring the implementation of recommendations and suggestions proposed by them whole-heartedly.
