Federal Finance Minister Syed Naveed Qamar has said that ensuring economic stability and democratic norms are the best revenge for the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The present government has initiated a number of projects to improve the socio-economic condition of the common people and soon the targets set for the uplift of the masses will be achieved, the Minister maintained.
While laying the foundation stone of different development projects in Union Council Husri, Taluka Hyderabad Rural here on Monday. He said that PPP fully believed in democracy and it is the reason that the party clinched the key posts of the President and the Prime Minister with the peoples' power. The revenge for the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is still not completed and it will be accomplished when the present government will fulfil all promises, which were made by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he said.
The Minister informed that the issuance of Benazir Income Support Programme Cards will be started from the current month while thousands of government jobs are being created for jobless youth of the country. The job opportunities in public sector are limited therefore the unemployed youth should pay attention to agriculture sector and the government is ready to provide them maximum assistance, he said.
The Minister said the present government also initiated concrete measures for the uplift of women, protection of their rights and provision of employment so that they could serve the country without any gender discrimination. With the start of Benazir Income Support Programme, the women could launch their own business and make them more powerful, which was the dream of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he said.
The government will fulfil all commitments, which were made with the people in the general elections, the Minister said and assured that all required facilities will be provided to the people at their nearest. On complaints of OGDL employees, the Minister assured that all genuine demands of the workers will be fulfilled while a post office and a bank branch will also be opened in Tando Haider in order to facilitate the people of the area.
Additional Advocate General Sindh Syed Miran Muhammad Shah and District Co-ordination Officer Hyderabad Ali Ahmed Lund also addressed the ceremonies. The Minister laid the foundation stone of seven kilometres-long gas pipeline in Village Ahmed Khan Almani. The project will be completed at a cost of Rs 15.5 million and facilitate the residents of around sixty villages.
