Indonesian shares slumped to end down 3.9 percent on Tuesday on foreign selling in commodity-related stocks, dealers said. They said there were fears that commodity prices will continue to fall in a weakening global economy. The Jakarta Composite Index fell 79.24 points to 1,958.75 in thin volume. Decliners outnumbered gainers 194 to 17.
"Fos close of 9,315. Dealers see the main index falling further on Wednesday. Top decliners included palm oil producer Astra Agro which fell 11 percent to 14,250 rupiah, coal miner Bumi Resources, down 10 percent to 3,950, and nickel and gold miner Antam which tumbled 10 percent to 1,350.
