Sarfaraz Siddiqui, Managing Director, DHL, Express, has said that In-House Export Customs Processing (IHECP) would play a significant part in enhancing exports. Pakistan Customs and DHL have signed MoU for in-house export customs clearance at Karachi for the outbound shipments at a ceremony held at a local hotel on Wednesday.
He said that IHECP, which is expected to be launched in October, exporters would save two hours in clearance and Pakistani value added products would reach in European markets, one day ahead. "Speed and Technology are the legacy of our business and through this investment we will have faster clearance of the import and export throughput with in-house customs.
DHL Pakistan is constantly focused on maximising technology to support customs in risk management with the well-established procedures. As part of our enhanced service we operate the largest network in the world, supported by Electronic Data Interface (EDT) to expedite clearance of all dutiable shipments, he said. A large number of Customs officials, including Chief Collector Customs, Munir Qureshi, Junaid Akram, Collector, Port Qasim were present on the occasion.
