Director General Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), Major General Athar Abbas on Thursday said that if US forces in Afghanistan continue to carry out attack inside Pakistan than it would be retaliated. In an interview with BBC, Athar Abbas said that the coalition forces were apprised of the decision.
He said that any action inside Pakistan from across the border by foreign forces would not be tolerated. DG ISPR said Pakistan has the exclusive right to defend its borders. To a question, Abbas said, "when the time comes, government will decided the measures," adding it would be retaliated in accordance with the violation.
Asked if he is declaring a state of war against US, DG ISPR said, " I am no body to declare war, the government will do it." He said only Pak Army has the right to take action inside Pakistan. To another question DG ISPR said that Pakistan has all options available and withdrawing logistics support is one of them. He maintained Pakistan has taken actions against militants and record demonstrates many al Qaeda and Taliban leaders were killed, arrested or handed over to US.
