Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) slammed the recent US attacks in Pakistani areas bordering Afghanistan and urged the government to immediately call a joint session of the parliament to devise strategy to deal with cross-border attacks.
This was stated by PML-N senior leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House. The US attacks are an insult to country's integrity and there is an urgent need to hold joint session of the parliament, he added. He said the statement issued by Chief of Army Staff, should have come from the President or Prime Minister. "If US claims to be Pakistan ally, then it must not act like an enemy. The attacks inside Pakistan's territory are not a healthy sign for country's integrity," he added.
Nisar said it is a known and accepted fact that US forces acted on faulty intelligence, killing and maiming innocent people who have nothing to do with terrorism.
He said in the very recent past even women and children were shot reportedly at close range in the village of "Musa Neke" in South Waziristan Agency by US-led ground troops.
He warned that unilateral extreme steps will increase anti-US sentiments among the people. Nisar urged the US and coalition forces stationed in Afghanistan to realise that the increase in terrorist attacks is directly proportional to the indiscriminate use of extreme force. He said that after a long time the country is free from dictatorship and is moving towards a democratic path.
Responding to a question, he said they will sit on Opposition Benches and solve the problems of masses and country in a positive manner. He highly acclaimed the statement of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
