Special Representative of OIC Secretary General on Kashmir would visit Islamabad and Muzaffarabad from September 14 to 16 to implement OIC resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. Ambassador Ezzat Kamel Mufti will meet the top leadership of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He will also hold meetings with representatives of APHC (AJK), and visit quake-affected areas of AJK. Ambassador Mufti will be accompanied by a four-member delegation comprising senior officials of the OIC General Secretariat, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF).
The mandate of Special Representative was approved by the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Baku in June 2006. It has since been endorsed by all subsequent OIC meetings including the 35th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Kampala, Uganda, in June 2008. Ambassador Mufti last visited the region in March 2007.
