Punjab Minister for Finance, Planning and Development, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that modern courses are being introduced in technical institutions for both male and female students. Talking to a delegation of industrialists at his office here on Saturday, he said that the new courses being started this year will be introduced in view of the needs of local industries and modern international trends.
Initially the new courses will be introduced in eight institutions only. The minister said that on the directive of Chief Minister Punjab, technical education courses are being revised and updated to train the work force in saleable skills and provide them better job opportunities.
He also said the technical courses introduced in China and India are also being studied and we might adapt or emulate them in Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) keeping in view the requirements of local industry.
