Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab vice president and MNA Malik Muhammad Afzal Khokhar has said that federal government's policy regarding Kashmir should be reflective of aspirations of people of Kashmir and in line with UN resolution on Kashmir issue.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said it would have been much better if President Asif Ali Zardari had taken oath from constitutional Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. He said people were expecting that President after taking oath would make announcement of repealing 17th amendment and 58-2B but no such initiative have been taken.
Malik Afzal Khokhar said people of Pakistan want to see parliament strong and powerful instead of President House. He said protection of life and property of people and ensuring sovereignty and security of the country is basic duty of government asserting "violation of territorial integrity of Pakistan and attacks in tribal areas by US lead allied forces is matter of grave concern."
He said after election of President, now there should be no delay in restoration of 1973 constitution as it was on October 12,1999 and restitution of judiciary to November 2,2007 position. He said for promotion of reconciliation and political stability in the country President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani should take steps for repealing 17th amendment and all extra constitutional measures taken during Pervez Musharraf's regime.
