In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has said the ongoing peaceful struggle would continue till the goal of liberation was achieved. Addressing a rally at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, Yasin Malik said that more than 50 people had been martyred by the Indian police and troops during the recent pro-freedom and anti-India demonstrations in the occupied territory, KMS reported.
"Thousands of Kashmir people have offered sacrifices to achieve freedom from India's illegal occupation. We would fight till we achieve our goal," said Malik. The JKLF Chairman pointed out that a reign of terror had been let loose by Indian agencies for intimidating, arresting and harassing Kashmir people especially youth to suppress the freedom movement. He, however, maintained that such repressive tactics could not break the will of Kashmiris for demanding their right to self-determination.
"The more New Delhi and the state government would use force to silent the Kashmiri people, more would their determination to seek the right of freedom," Yasin said, moments before he was injured when police fired teargas canisters and resorted to heavy Lathi charge to disperse hundreds of protesters.
