The NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has approved compensation amounts of Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 each, respectively for the families of those killed and wounded in a grenade-and-gun attack in a mosque in the Maskanai area of lower Dir on September 10.
The Chief Minister also directed the concerned officials for early completion of all the requirements to provide the compensation amounts to the heirs of the victims as soon as possible. "Even a huge monetary assistance cannot replace the precious lives of the innocent people lost in the attack.
However, this little amount of compensation is actually a gesture of sympathy with the bereaved families on the part of the provincial government," the Chief Minister said. Talking to Provincial Minister for Livestock Hidayatullah Khan, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that the killings of innocent people during Taravih prayers was the most despicable thing and an act of those who were against Islam's vision of peace and solidarity.
He directed the local authorities to investigate the matter and take strict action against those responsible. He also directed best possible treatment to those who were injured. He also prayed for their early recovery. Hidayatullah Khan thanked the Chief Minister for approving compensation for the families of the victims and said it was a tragic incident in which mostly children have been killed.
