The new extension of the emergency ward at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Jinnah Hospital was recently inaugurated by Jahangir Siddiqui, as part of the JS Group's strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. JS Group supports many organisations and initiatives, mainly through the Mahvash and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation.
The primary focus areas of this foundation are healthcare, education and sustainable development through social enterprises. This year, JS Group collectively contributed Rs 347 million to the foundation, to be further divided in the three focus areas of the foundation.
Ms Nadia Munawar Siddiqui, Director Corporate Affairs was also present on the occasion. She said: 'CSR' at the JS Group is an integral part of our business strategy, and has been evolved from pure corporate philanthropy. The reason for this is that now there is an increased convergence between the private sector, the financial markets and the global community. Our main aim is to incorporate long-term measures into our definition of success and to target profitability that is sustainable."-PR
