Foreign Investors: Punjab government to provide conducive atmosphere, says chief minister
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has stated that Punjab government would provide a conducive atmosphere for foreign investment in the province and all out facilities were being provided for this purpose. He said that government would also resolve all problems and remove hurdles in this regard.
Talking to a delegation led by International Chief Executive of Metro Group, Frans Muller, here on Saturday, the chief minister said that Punjab government had taken solid measures for increasing export of agri products and in this connection cold storages were being constructed at airports of five cities of the province at a cost of Rs 750 million under Punjab Agri Marketing Company.
He said that construction of these cold storages would not only leave a positive impact on the economy of the province but would also result in substantial increase in the export of agri items. He said that Pakistan remained a developing country and needed foreign investment for rapid progress.
Leader of the delegation, Frans Muller said that Metro Group had been making heavy investment in different cities of Pakistan. He said that a store has been set up with a cost of Rs 1.5 billion on Multan Road in Lahore where job opportunities had been provided to 300 persons. He said that the Group was also exporting Pakistani agri products. Other members of the delegation included Regional Operating Officer James Scott, Managing Director Jiovanni Soranzo, Director Atila Yensisen and Pervaiz Akhtar.
