Akber Sheikh, Chairman Aptma (Punjab) has appealed to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, to evaluate the feasibility of export oriented industry in the country while raising tariff for industry.
Chairman Aptma (Punjab) has requested the Prime Minister, the Minister for Water and Power and Nepra that for export industry consumers on B-3, independent feeder tariff should be given a 20 percent discount in power tariff as compared to other industry for the almost Zero line losses and 100 percent payment record.
Akber Sheikh has also said that Aptma members who run their industry for 24 hours a day should not be charged extra for consumption during peak hours. He said that concept of peak hours charges is for consumer, domestic or commercial, who are to be discouraged from using electricity during peak hours. Industry which has to be run 24 hours a day should not be penalised with extra charges.
