On 3rd September 2008 one Haqqani (Jalaluddin) was the target of a swift US attack in Bajaur area of Pakistan. Since the series of US cross border activities were too much for the Government to push under the rug, specially with a vibrant media (as Musharraf mentioned in his last speech) reporting each and every detail much to the dislike of the Government and the Americans, who damn care, the issue got picked up and the Government had to cut a sorry figure by asking its Foreign Minister to give a matured speech on the floor of the house.
The beloved ambassador, came up with his surprise meetings with US officials getting assurances that "this will not happen again". The million dollar question is: What if it does, would the Government take the responsibility and resign as they kept advising General Musharraf during his tenure?
