Apropos a news item "Pakistan out of default risk" carried by Business Recorder on Monday, State Bank of Pakistan claims that the news item inaccurately quotes the Governor, State Bank of Pakistan and aims to implicate her in political controversy. State Bank Governor's remarks on economy in all forums are purely professional viewpoint of the central bank.
It is regrettable that some attempts are being made to misrepresent the SBP Governor. "Planning Commission has also confirmed that no such remarks as reported by your esteemed daily were made by the Governor during the economists' meeting held by the Planning Commission on 13th September 2008," according to the SBP.
