Bazm-e-Nau Pakistan conducted a condolence meeting for the sad demise of prominent British Urdu poet Ralph Russel, who was also known as British Baba-e-Urdu on Tuesday at a local hotel. The participants inspiringly appreciated him for his services rendered to Urdu for more than 5 decades.
The poet spent most of his time in Pakistan and India, dedicated himself for prosperity of Urdu language and contributed some exceptional Urdu work in Britain. He was engaged in teaching and researching Urdu throughout his life. Professor Ralph taught Urdu from 1950 to 1981 at London University. He left more 100 books and articles behind him.-PR
