Some unknown men fired three rockets from suburb of the city which landed at three different parts of the provincial capital on Wednesday evening, CCPO Quetta Muhammad Akbar told APP. He said that one rocket hit a residence of Assistant Director FIA in Tajikabad area which damaged the boundary wall of the house.
The second rocket landed on open ground near Jinnah Town in front of Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education office. The third one landed near Net Star Food Point around Jinnah Town, which also damaged windowpanes of the nearby houses. However, no one was injured as a result of the rocket firings, the CCPO added. The rockets landed with bang explosions at Iftari time, which could be heard at far-off places in the city. The rockets explosions triggered fear in the city.
The CCPO said that some unknown men also opened fire when the rockets landed in Jinnah Town and escaped from the scene. Police were collecting evidences about the firing incident. Police reached at the sites of the rocket-stricken areas and experts took the shells of the rockets for examining, police sources said. The rockets were launched for the first time since August 4 and after announcing cease-fire by Baloch militant organisations in the province.
