The increasing price hike, frequent power outage and acute shortage of water and essential commodities including flour is creating unrest among the people of Hyderabad. Despite public protest and demonstrations in different localities, the authorities concerned have failed to provide sigh of relief to them.
During the holy month of Ramazan, unprecedented increase in the prices of essential foodstuff has been witnessed as prices of vegetables, fruits, meet, pulses, flour, rice, and sugar have gone up to all time high. The residents of Hyderabad lodging their protest daily in different areas against non-availability of flour and prolonged load shedding which according to the protestors have made their life miserable.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, people belonging to different segments of the life expressed strong reaction to the situation and said the flour crisis had continued to persist and the utility services providers had failed to overcome the problem.
During current Ramazan, they said, Hyderabad was facing worst of its kind of load shedding as authorities concerned were switching off the power for more than five to seven hours in a day which had made the daily life of the people miserable. As a result of unscheduled power outage, hundreds of electrical, electronics and digital appliances went out of order due to power outage and fluctuation.
The Business community said that due to power failures their business suffered a lot and they were unable to run their business in the evening hours due to power cut, which were causing them huge losses every month. All citizens of different localities appealed to the higher authorities to solve their problems in this hot season. They also urged the government to immediately withdraw this increase the price hike as it would also fuel inflation making life more miserable for a common man.
