Federal government is taking keen interest to enhance power generation in the Northern Areas, especially in Baltistan region (Skardo and Ghangche districts) and huge funds are being spent for this purpose. Official sources told APP here on Friday that two megawatt power house would be constructed in Kundus valley in Ghangche district at a cost of Rs 700 million.
Construction work would start soon on the hydel project. Official sources also said that one megawatt power house would be constructed in Hassanabad and one megawatt power house would be constructed in Saltoro Gongma area to facilitate the people of the area.
