On the instructions of Punjab Government, DDOR (Sadar)/Special Price Magistrate Ms Kiran Khursheed conducted raids at Chak No 38/J.B. Dagora and caught Ali Akhtar fertiliser dealer red-handed and found guilty of over charging for the bag of urea fertiliser for Rs 700/- instead of official fixed price at Rs 645/ per bag. He was selling his consignment of urea fertiliser consisting of 600 bags.
The DDOR while taking legal action against the urea dealer imposed find of Rs 7000/ on the spot. She, however, got the remaining fertiliser bags sold under her own supervision and the amount excess charged from the farmers was returned to them. The farmers community thanked the district administration on taking effective measures to check the black-marketing and over charging of fertilisers in the best interest of the farmers community.
