The security forces successfully cleared restive village Koza Bandai from mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by fleeing miscreants and has been handed over to people on Sunday.
"Having successfully cleared village Koza Bandai from mines and IEDs planted by fleeing miscreants the area has been handed over to the peace loving people of Koza Bandai," according to a press release of media information centre Swat here on Sunday.
The security forces have improved the security perimeter around the village by establishing their posts at Siagram, Derai, the outlying areas of Koza Bandai. A relief camp has also been set up at Koza Bandai in order to assist the rehabilitation of the incoming displaced people.
All the victims will be provided with immediate relief assistance worth RS two million to start with apart from shelter, foods, medical and other basic needs, while efforts for restoration of electricity are also underway on priority, it said.
In addition to that, a compensation committee has been set up to assess the damage to property of the residents by the government through the provincial relief commissioner where representatives of the local government along notables of the area will carry out the required estimates and relief work. Compensation would be provided to the deserving victims in due course of time. Life in Swat remained peaceful, shops were open and people carried out their routine activities. Curfew has been relaxed from 7am to 7pm in the valley.
