The Investigation Police, Naseerabad have busted a gang of criminals involved in a number of dacoity and street crimes arrested four of its members. A Punjab Police spokesman said on Monday that the police recovered 32 cell phones worth Rs 500, 000 and illegal weapons from the criminals.
The arrested persons during a preliminary interrogation have confessed to committing 15 such crimes. They were identified as Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Sammi, Muhammad Asif and Rana Awais. Meanwhile, the Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Pervez Rathore has directed the SP Modal Town, Rai Ijaz Ahmed to take effective measures against rising crimes taking place in the city.
Earlier, Rathore constituted a special team under the supervision of In charge Investigation, Naseerabad and other officials that collected the detail of the gang leader, Amjad Bhalli alias Gora on a tip off and arrested four of people of the gang. The criminals were allegedly practising variety of crimes including snatching of valuables from passers-by at gunpoint and shop and house robberies. Further, the Police have traced criminal records against them in Naseerabad, Liaqatabad, Shahdara Town, Ghazi Abad, Lower Mall and Defence police stations.
