The Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) employees union on Monday held a protest rally against Qadirpur gas field's proposed sell-off in front of its head office in Blue Area and demanded of the government to refrain from depriving the company of its golden asset.
Addressing the rally, OGDC union leaders said they will not accept Qadirpur gas field's sell-off to any private sector company as any such attempt would be against the national interest. They were of the view that some elements in the government wanted to usurp the national asset of Qadirpur gas field in the name of privatisation but the OGDC employees will not let them succeed in their evil designs. They demanded of OGDC management to convey their concern to the highest level.
The speakers were of the view that if the government did not change its decision they will expand their protest to parliament house and Supreme Court of Pakistan.
