Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) administration on Monday has sent the DNA test report of three unidentified burnt bodies lying in the hospital. Pims spokesman Dr Waseem Khwaja told Business Recorder that officials of Danish and Egyptian embassies had contacted the hospital administration to trace out their missing persons.
He said that these bodies were burnt badly and only the DNA test could prove their identity. Thirty-three victims of Marriot blast are still admitted to the Pims. Of them, five were in critical condition. He said that 107 injured - two Americans, two British, 18 Saudis and six Germans - were brought to the hospital, and added they were discharged after initial treatment.
Total 38 bodies were brought to the Pims. They included one Czech, two Americans, and a female from Vietnam. A total number of 95 operations, both major and minor, were performed. During the operation, a leg of a person, which was badly burnt, and a hand of another person, amputated. At present, there was no foreigner in the Pims, said Dr Waseem Khwaja.
However, in polyclinic, 30 victims are being treated at the hospital, of them seven were in critical condition. Total 115 victims, including 6 dead bodies were brought to Polyclinic and 79 were discharged after initial treatment. Besides, seven bodies and 17 injured were brought to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) hospital.
