Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has disbursed Rs 68 billion among farming community during last year as against target of Rs 60 billion. This was stated by the Bank's Chief Muhammad Zaka Ashraf on the eve of inauguration of 'Deposit Management System' (DMS) and 'Field Operation Computerised System' (FOCS) in Zonal office here on Friday.
He further said that the Annual lending target for 2008-09 is Rs 72 billion and with the current pace of disbursement, the bank is set to achieve the lending target. While inaugurating the 'Deposit management System' and 'Field Operation Computerised System' Zaka Ashraf said "after the successful launch of 'Online Loan Processing System' ZTBL's Online System is designed to ensure timely provision of all financial services to its rural clientele especially small farmers".
He further said that ZTBL has over one million borrowers and offers diversified Deposit Schemes like Zarai Bachat Account, Zarai Term Deposit Certificates, PLS & Mustaqbil Mahfooz. So Deposit Management System has been launched to cater the requirements of retail banking of bank's borrowers. This new system software indigenously developed by the bank integrates with Nadra system to access verified CNIC data of its clientele, he added.
Since, the bank is launching its Zarkhaiz One Window Operation w.e.f. October, 6 2008 for provision of production loans so this new system will support the bank's credit delivery mechanism effectively as its 114 branches have been brought under online Loan Processing System and by the end of December all the remaining branches will be commented accordingly under FOCS, while 750 bank's officials will be imparted training by the end of this year to handle this system effectively.
