Afghan refugees returning home from Pakistan under the UN refugee agency's voluntary repatriation programme are informed that the facilitated return process will be temporarily suspended in Pakistan and Afghanistan on account of the Eid holidays with the following schedule.
UNHCR Voluntary Repatriation Centre in Hayatabad (Peshawar) and UNHCR encashment centres inside Afghanistan will remain closed from September 30 to October 4, says a press release issued here on Friday. The UNHCR Voluntary Repatriation Centre in Baleli (Quetta) will be closed from September 29 to October 4.
Returnees are advised not to approach the UNHCR Voluntary Repatriation Centres in Pakistan and the encashment centres inside Afghanistan during Eid holidays. Services for Afghan returnees at the UNHCR Voluntary Repatriation Centres in Pakistan and the encashment centres in Afghanistan will resume on October 5, to assist Afghans opting to return to home with UNHCR assistance.
