The chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Interior, Talha Mehmood, has clarified that neither the chairman nor the Senate Standing Committee on Interior at any stage sought the resignation of the Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior A. Rehman Malik.
In a statement here on Sunday, it has been clarified that regrettably, some electronic channels have falsely quoted the chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Interior, asking Rehman Malik to resign.
"There is absolutely no truth in this news item," the statement added. It is to be mentioned that a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior was held under the chairmanship of Senator Talha Mehmood on Saturday to discuss and review the progress of pobe into Marriott Hotel blast.
The Secretary Interior, Islamabad Administration, CDA and Chairman NDMA briefed the committee about various aspects of the incident. Since the investigations are underway, the committee decided to hold another meeting after Eid.
