Malaysian stocks may remain choppy due to uncertainties on Wall Street and other major regional bourses, dealers said Friday. "The buying momentum will continue to remain weak," Stephen Soo, analyst with TA Securities told AFP. For the trading week ended September 26, the composite index dropped 5.17 points or 0.5 percent to 1,020.53.
Soo described trading during the period as "cautious with investors taking on the sidelines." Daily average volume dropped to 386.1 million shares worth 711.44 million ringgit from 496.75 million shares valued at 973 million ringgit a week ago. Soo said the bourse could slip below 1,000 points next week and advised investors to adopt a cautious stance.
