Taiwan's Asustek Computer, a pioneer in the increasingly popular class of low-cost PCs known as netbooks, said on Friday it would roll out six to eight new netbook models by the end of next year.
The company is aiming to keep prices stable next year for its Eee PC line of netbooks, despite growing competition from the world's top PC makers, Samson Hu, general manager of Asustek's Eee PC business unit, told Reuters in an interview. "Surfing the Internet has become part of our daily lives, so demand for devices that connect to the Internet is growing and has large potential," Hu said.
