The federal government with the approval of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has set up a Management Board for Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). The minister/minister of state will be chairman of the Board while Ms Shahnaz Wazir Ali, MNA, will be its vice-chairperson.
Others include Naveed Qamar, MNA, Qamar Zaman Kaira, MNA, Ms Hina Rabbani Khar, MNA, Salman Faruqi, deputy chairman, Planning Commission, Dr Kaiser Bengali, National Co-ordinator and M. Sher Khan, managing director-member/secretary. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division here on Tuesday, the Board will act as one stop organisation in devising structure of the programme, including recruitment/removal of its staff.
