NWFP Inspector General of Police Malik Naveed Khan has denied to have any knowledge about the recovery of Afghan ambassador-designate to Pakistan Abdul Khaliq Farahi. Talking to a private TV channel, the IGP said he was in contact with Farahis family, and his family members were disappointed over the false report of his release, which appeared in a section of media.
He said that all possible steps were being taken to ensure his safe return and as soon as he was released, media would be informed. The interior ministry has also clarified that Farahi was not recovered at yet. Meanwhile, NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain has also denied the release of Afghan ambassador-designate. "The news of Farahi's release aired by electronic media and published by print-media carry no weight," he added.
