The Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) has announced load shedding during Eid holidays in urban and rural areas. According to Iesco statement issued on Tuesday, the demand for electricity has been increased with rising temperature and less hydel generation due to which Iesco would have to do three hours load shedding in urban areas and five hours in rural areas.
Spokesman for Iesco said that the company would have to save 306 MW during 24 hours as per quota given by the National Power Control Centre (NPCC) Wapda for Iesco. To cater this load Iesco load shedding would be consisted upon 3 to 5 duration of one hour during 24 hours. However, load shedding duration can be increased or decreased as per requirement in over populated/over loaded and some other areas. The spokesman also said that if electricity demand is decreased due to pleasant changing in weather during Eid holidays, then load shedding duration would also be decreased accordingly.
