A proclaimed offender and his accomplices gunned down three persons including a councillor, UC No 144 on Thursday evening in Chak No 209-RB, when they were returning to home after attending a Nimaz-e-Jinaza. The lecturer, GC University Faisalabad, Maulana Altaf ru Rehman, who was performing the duty of mosque Imam in the village, also received bullets injures and was shifted to the Allied Hospital Faisalabad, where his condition was stated to be serious.
Sadar Police sources informed Business Recorder that personal enmity was the cause behind the triple murder. The source of enmity that took six lives during 18 years, was the hanging of one Saqib in the District Jail.
According to details, when the Councillor, UC 144, Rana Tariq, Mian Asim Riaz, Tariq Mehmood and Maulana Altaf ru Rehman were returning home from graveyard after attending the Nimaz-e-Jinaza of a villager. As soon as they reached near the village, four armed persons including a proclaimed offender, Bin-Yameen reached there in a car opened fire killing three people on the spot and leaving Maulana Altaf ru Rehman seriously injured.
