Regional Police Officer, Rawalpindi Nasir Khan Durrani has placed two Sub-Inspectors (SI), and four Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) of Rawalpindi district under suspension on the charges of negligence and misconduct, also issued a show cause notice to Inspector Aziz Aslam of police Station Saddar Barooni for poor crime state in his jurisdiction.
According to detail, RPO Nasir Khan Durrani, paid a surprise visit to the Police Station Saddar Barooni Rawalpindi and checked the record. During scrutiny number of cases were found pending investigation due to negligence of the Investigating Officers. On this SI Abdul Majeed, ASI Iftikhar Ahmad, ASI Mukhtar Ahmad, ASI Altaf Hussain and ASI Aftab Ahmad were placed under suspension and closed to police lines.
During Inspection it was also observed that in few Hurt / Attempted Murder cases the crime weapons were not recovered, which has weakened the prosecution stance. Similarly there were 18 cases of narcotics in which the case property was not deposited in the Malkahan. On this DSP Investigation Sultan Mehmood Chaddar was deputed to hold an inquiry regarding the genuineness of the cases and to submit report within seven days.
SI Akbar Abbas Incharge Malkahan despite being transferred did not hand over the charge to the new incumbent. He was also placed under suspension. The crime situation of the Police Station was not found satisfactory. There was an alarming increase in robbery and dacoity cases with poor detection. SHO was also not familiar about the Proclaimed Offenders of his Police Station and cases under investigation. The SHO was also issued show cause notice for his poor performance.
Large number of people also met the Regional Police Officer Nasir Khan Durrani and complained against the local police for not arresting their accused involved in murder case.
RPO Durrani directed the SSP/Operation to constitute a special team for the arrest of these persons and to submit progress report within seven days in this regard.
