Millat Park Police have busted a gang of criminals and arrested its two members involved in a number of incidents of motorcycle lifting and snatching and seized looted vehicles as well as illegal weapons from them. However, during preliminary interrogation the accused have confessed to their involvement in 10 such incidents.
As per details, SSP Operations Shafiq Ahmed directed SP Iqbal Town Captain Sohail Chaudhary (retd) to take effective measures to curb the incidents of motorcycle lifting and snatching in Iqbal Town division and a special team was constituted under the supervision of SPO, Samnabad, Raja Saddaqat comprising SHO Millat Park, Inspector Attique Dogar and other officials which collected the particulars of Naveed alias Needi gang and arrested its two members on a tip-off.
The criminals used to steal motorcycles parked outside the houses and shops and sold them at cheaper prices. Around eight cases have also been traced against them in Icchra, Nawakot, Millat Park, Islampura and Mughalpura police stations. Moreover, police have recovered seven motorcycles, two pistols and bullets from their possession. The arrested were identified as Naveed alias Needi and Muhammad Saleem.
