Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital to inquire about the health of his party's MNA Rashid Akbar Niwani, who was injured in a suicide blast at Bhakkar on Monday. Nawaz, who reached the hospital amid stringent security measures, remained there for some time, and expressed good wishes to Rashid Akbar Niwani.
He prayed for his early recovery. Doctors apprised Nawaz about the condition of injured MNA and treatment facilities being provided to him. After meeting Niwani, Nawaz told reporters that although solution of menace of terrorism was not possible through Wednesday's joint sitting of parliament, such sessions should be convened regularly. Nawaz said that terrorism had become a cancer and the whole nation would have to wage joint efforts for the elimination of this menace. Nevertheless, a national policy must be framed to counter terrorism, he added.
He said that current wave of terrorism in the country was a gift of dictatorial rule of Pervez Musharraf. About the deposed judges, Nawaz said that instead of restoring the deposed judges, disrespect to judiciary had been made. Later, Nawaz left for Islamabad to attend the joint session of the Parliament.
