The Central Finance Secretary of Pakistan Muslim L:eague-Nawaz (PML-N), Muhammad Pervez Malik has said that people had voted for change of system in February 18 elections but they are still waiting for fruits of restoration of democracy in the county.
Speaking in a meeting on Friday, he said in a society where national hero remains behind the bars and person who abrogated the constitution, is presented with guard of honour could not survive. 'Pervez Musharraf must be dealt with the law for violating the Constitution and pushing the country to inferno of terrorism, chaos and for wasting huge national wealth on his security,' he demanded. 'Peace could not be ensured in the country without ensuring rule of law,' he added.
According to Malik, the country's economic problems are the result of uncertainty and poor law and order situation. Further, Musharraf's policies would have to go if we want to get rid of extremism and terrorism, he maintained.
'Unemployment, poverty and backwardness could be overcome by ensuring economic stability, which is linked with peace. However, peace could not be achieved by toeing Musharraf's flawed and ill-conceived policies,' the PML-N leader said. The wave of bomb explosions is playing havoc with the national economy and no investor would come to Pakistan unless and until we overcome the menace of terrorism, he cautioned.
