Pakistan Muslim League-N central Vice President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said his party wants a debate on strategy to fight terror war while the government has only given a briefing on the military operation. Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Hashmi said PML-N presented its stance during the in-camera briefing.
"We maintain the country is facing a potential crisis of national security and Parliament should hold a debate on the country's terrorism policy," he said. "The briefing covered only the military operation. Only one part cannot be put to debate unless the larger picture comes into perspective,"he added.
He said "We demand the objectives of the entire strategy, its motives and duration and what is other option left with us be put to debate in Parliament. We hope the government will make elaborate arrangements in the parliament session on Monday," he said. Hashmi asked the government to frame national policy by giving representation to all the parties so that the country could be pulled out of the ongoing crisis.
