The Lahore High Court (LHC) in a petition filed against the appointment of administrator in Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), has issued notice to the Ministry of Trade and Commerce. The defunct President of GCCI, Yawar Rafique pleaded to the court that while observing rules and regulation, they were working in accordance with the law.
But the government made them dysfunctional and appointed an administrator giving him a task to scrutinise voters' list and thereafter hold free and fair election within 60 days. He refuted the allegation that the body was indulged misappropriating the voters' list to give benefit to a specific group.
