Pursuant to directions of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has launched a crackdown against the proclaimed offenders in anti-corruption cases. The ACE team on Tuesday arrested six culprits.
The team also arrested Muttiullah, a clerk of Communication and Works Department for taking Rs 25,000 as gratification for employment from one Ghulam Mustafa. Muhammad Niaz, a private person involved and wanted in a fraud case of 16 kanal and 10 marla valuable land located at DHA has also been arrested by ACE. Eight accused including Patwari concerned involved in the case are already behind the bars.
The ACE team also arrested Liaqat Ali, ASI, posted at Chowki FC College for taking Rs 20,000 as gratification. The ASI arrested one Shahid in a bailable offence of Copy Right Act and kept him in custody for three days just to get money. He produced the accused before the court of law after taking Rs 20,000. The ACE also arrested Babar Kharl, Assistant LDA for issuing clearance certificate/NOC against file of a plot already cancelled. Babar Kharl is involved in corruption of billion of rupees and two references have already been sent to NAB against him. Raids are being conducted to arrest co-accused Naveed Anwar, retired Director Land Development and Khawaja Jaffar, Assistant Director LDA of this case.
