US cocoa and arabica coffee bounced in early trade Friday, retracing after settling at multi-month lows Thursday and with a short-covering boost, although volume was thin, traders said. Arabica coffee for December delivery up 1.15 cents at $1.14 per lb, by 9:12 am EDT (1312 GMT). Trading range from $1.1355 to $1.1515.
-- The rest rose 1.05 to 1.95 cents. December volume was at a light 1,490 lots. Corrective boost from short-covering at the end of the week and after the key contract finished at a 13-1/2 month low Thursday, said traders. Benchmark cocoa December up $26 at $2,150 per tonne by 9:13 am, moving from $2,131 to $2,180. The rest up from $10 to $24. December volume at a thin 1,904 lots.
