Senior Minister Punjab Raja Riaz Ahmad has said that government is working for the promotion of education adding that a sum of Rs 1,454 million is being spent on 22 school education projects in the province. The purpose is to promote school education and to attract the dropouts to resume their educational activities by giving them various incentives.
He was addressing a workshop about school education at a local hotel here on Sunday. Raja Riaz informed that work is going on 11 on-going and 11 new projects relating to the promotion of school education during the current fiscal year.
He said that Rs 42.80 million for accelerated programme for school education, Rs 2500 million for Punjab Education Sector Reforms Programme, Rs 2000 million accelerated programme for school education for girls, Rs 1910 million for accelerated r school education for boys, Rs 1000 million for education priority programme and Rs 3630 million for model schools have been earmarked to attract the students for getting education. This programme will also enhance the standard of educational facilities besides providing missing facilities in the public sector schools.
Senior Minister Raja Riaz further said that education is the basic human right of every human being and the government is committed to provide quality education to all. Various experts who presented their proposals for the promotion of education also addressed the function.
