No room for corrupt officials in E&T department, says minister

There is no room for corrupt officials in the Excise & Taxation Department and strict measures are being taken to root out corruption from the department. Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman expressed these views while presiding over a departmental meeting, here on Tuesday.
Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, however, said that hard working officers and officials having good reputation will be appreciated. He said that new reforms are being ensured so that the department could be made people-friendly. He said that the department will be freed from black sheep.
He also directed the officers to serve masses selflessly and open their doors for the people and merit be ensured at every cost, as it is the manifesto of his party leaders Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
