At a time when India is preparing to stage election drama in Held Kashmir the local population is least interested in it. According to a documentary telecast by a private television channel on Wednesday Kashmiris belonging to every walk of life are committed to remain away from this election.
Kashmiris have been rendering sacrifices for the sake of their right to self determination to which the election is no substitute said an elderly Kashmiri. He said that India hold the drama of election in IHK just to misguide the international community.
A university student was of the view that the Kashmiris who participate in the election also promise the people during the campaign that they would work for their independence. He urged the pro-election political parties of Kashmiris to come out of Indian's trap and join the common move of the people of occupied Kashmir for a cause, which has been validated by the United Nations also. A working lady while recording her point of view on the election said, Kashmiris are destined to live in unprecedented state terrorism in a world that claims to be the civilised.
There should be only one election in the state that should allow the people of occupied Kashmir to use their right to self determination she said adding, all other attempt are deceiving trick by the Indian authorities.
The Kashmiris living overseas also deplored the Indian practice of holding fraud election in IHK in spite of co-operating in the efforts to find an amicable solution of this longstanding dispute. A local Kashmiri leader in Srinagar quoted by the report saying that Indian authorities would take back the empty ballot boxes because the people of occupied Kashmir are at the back of APHC, which has boycotted the practice. He said that APHC is the only representative body of the people of occupied Kashmir and they would adhere to its call.
