Secretary Food Punjab, Mohammed Irfan Elalhi has said that 75654 metric tones imported wheat has reached Punjab while one lakh 22 thousand metric tones wheat was also on its way to Punjab from Karachi Port. Wheat received in Punjab, so far, is up to the required standard however, Punjab Food Department would also test the quality of other consignments of imported wheat before receiving, he added.
He disclosed this while presiding over a departmental meeting at his office, here today. Director Food, Waseem Mukhtar Chaudhry and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting. While reviewing the arrangements of dispatching flour to other provinces, he told that Punjab Food Department is providing 1000 metric tones flour to Balochistan and 5000 metric tones flour to NWFP on daily basis.
